Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, SECTION 1. SHORT TITLE. This Act may be cited as the ``Detain Illegals until Repatriated or Expelled Act'' or the ``DIRE Act''. SEC. 2. STATE CRIMINAL ALIEN ASSISTANCE PROGRAM. Section 241(i) of the Immigration and Nationality Act (8 U.S.C. 1231(i)) is amended-- (1) in paragraph (1)-- (A) by inserting ``Authorization.--'' before ``If the chief''; (B) in the matter preceding subparagraph (A), by inserting ``and medical expenses'' after `…
